In a united show of compassion and commitment, Lions International Regions 4, 5, and 6, in collaboration with the Pink Africa Foundation, took to the streets to raise awareness on the prevention and early detection of breast and other cancer diseases under the powerful theme #RIPOFFBREASTCANCER.

The awareness walk brought together stakeholders, global partners, and members of Lions Clubs from Regions 4, 5, and 6, all joining voices and steps to promote regular screening, early diagnosis, and healthy lifestyles.

The campaign was flagged off at Millennium Park by Mrs. Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, the wife of the Cross River State Governor, who was ably represented by Mrs. Eme Etim Asido, wife of the Chairman of Odukpani Local Government Council.
In her goodwill message, Mrs. Asido emphasized the importance of regular breast examinations and medical checkups, urging women to prioritize their health as a preventive measure against the growing threat of cancer in Cross River State and Nigeria at large.

The spirited walk progressed from Millennium Park through Mary Slessor Avenue and Marian Road, culminating at Government Secondary School, Akim, where participants engaged in free breast cancer screening and health education sessions. The event was marked by enthusiasm, solidarity, and shared commitment to saving lives through awareness.
