The Port Harcourt Crystal Lions Club, Port Harcourt Reggae Lions Club and Port Harcourt Crystal Leo Club have carried out a humanitarian outreach under the Paediatric Cancer Project at the Department of Paediatrics, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State.
The exercise, held on February 20, 2026, was aimed at improving the welfare and treatment environment of children battling cancer and strengthening support for the Paediatric Cancer Unit.
As part of the intervention, the clubs donated essential consumables and cleaning reagents to enhance hygiene and proper housekeeping within the unit.
They also distributed gift boxes containing toiletries and towels to paediatric cancer patients, providing comfort and encouragement to the children and their families.
The outreach further extended to a child living with cerebral palsy, who received a hospital bed, mattress and bedsheets to improve care, comfort and recovery.
